Colorado Trip 2024: Questionnaire with Emily

What was the trip's overall purpose?

The purpose of our Colorado trip was to get our 2025 spring line captured in a different & new location, with incredible views & landscapes. Ensuring we capture the essence of our coastal brand, while still utilizing the mountain landscape and forests.

How many people went?

Four of us from AO got the opportunity to go to Aspen, CO. Our CEO, Tom Underwood, his daughter Lia Underwood, who models for us, and Greg our Vice President of Operations, who was our photographer.

What was the most exciting part of the trip for you?

The most exciting part for me was most likely driving along Independence pass and seeing the continental divide. Being up almost 12 thousand feet was also a surreal experience. From living in Florida my whole life, it was crazy to be so high up above sea level.

What were the main locations for the photoshoots?

The main locations were Maroon Bells with a gorgeous backdrop. Downtown Aspen for street looks and couple shots. The Roaring Fork River near Independence pass. Our final location was Country Club of the Rockies on our way back from the airport.

Can you describe a specific moment or memory from the trip?

My favorite memory was being with my colleagues for the whole week, getting incredible shots and collaborating on so many different projects. Being close with everyone at AndersonOrd is important, not only for me, but for the company as a whole. We truly are a family and it was great taking on new adventures with my AO Family.

Were there any behind-the-scenes moments worth sharing?

Best behind the scenes moment was our air bnb we stayed at, and it being named the granny shack. It was a quant house on a small mountain looking at Mount sopris where the view was stunning.

What was your favorite scene/location on the trip?

My favorite location was the roaring fork river when Greg and I did some really cool river shots with our All in One shorts which is our first ever boardshort! Great creative shots were taken of the shorts half in the water and half on the rock bringing in a lot of dimension to the photos. The surrounding trees were unreal and covered the river so only peaks of sun came through it.

Did the trip inspire any new creative ideas for future projects?

At AndersonOrd we are always coming up with new creative ideas. Being in a different location and experiencing the different landscapes allowed us to envision/create new & exciting ideas for future projects.

What was the biggest takeaway from this experience?

The biggest takeaway from this was our product line runs so deep. It goes back to our mission as a brand to redefine the apparel space with our revolutionary products. We really do strive for all of our products to be built for every facet in your life, and Colorado was a great example of that. All of the guys were hiking in the AO Wave 1's, as well as wearing them throughout the trip. I was wearing our leggings while at the airport & during the photo shoots throughout the week.

If you could go back, what’s one thing you’d love to do again?

We are going back to Colorado this year to get more action & nature shots, which I’m super excited about. We plan to do activities like fly fishing, water rafting, and rocking climbing. One thing I would love to do when we go back will be to explore more of Aspen Mountain, and see different views for the first time.
